Hey everyone! Just thought I'd tell you guys; you know the characters I've been drawing Catriona and Zayle (yes it's official now, The name Kai no longer suits him. sorry voters) I will posting the first chapter of their story on FictionPress.com sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning (2am-ish) And I'll post a link. I'm going through the final edits as I type this and I've had to adjust it and my dear little sister [link] has been giving me great critiques and pointers (she's a better writer than me

) I'll post a link below and on the concept art in my gallery so don't worry :3 I won't be posting the story on DA because of reasons.

Head shots are $3 for Sketch, $5 for inked, $8 for colored.

Pictures of the Waist/hips up is $4 for sketch, $7 for inked, $10 for colored.

Full body drawings will vary more depending on the difficulty of the pose.

backgrounds are an automatic extra $5. Sketches are $6-$8, Inked are $10-$13, Colored are $15-$20.
Prices also vary in the coloring. colored pencil are what's listed above, watercolor is $2 more on all (even if its just half watercolor and half pencil) and digitally colored is an $3-$5 more. The listed price below is just a general price. and $2 will be cut if you want a colored sketch instead of an Inked drawing.

I would buy one... but alas I am but a mere poor college student living off ramen, fighting to keep my grants. Hi Lelia, Got a reply from "I-am-Nikon", it's on their profile site. 'Terry', one of the founders of the group, gives 'the criteria' for submissions being declined, some of which are rather fatuous, (in my mind). Put a 'reply to the reply', stating why I thought the last submission was worthy of being added to their galleries. (it is of a Cygnet preening itself whilst standing on a large stone in a fresh water pond, it is in my 'Birds of a Feather' folder. I would be grateful if you have time to have a look at it and see what you think.
What was your piece that was 'declined', it would be of interest to see the work.
Again, as we both have more or less said, they seem to be making rather arbitary decisions on the material submitted. 'Unsharpness is OK where it is appropriate'. What is that meant to mean?

I saw your comment on the 'Nikon' gallery. I keep getting knocked back as well. I'm starting to think they are being a bit elitist, as quite frankly, some of the stuff being accepted is cr%p. They never give an explanation or advice, just 'declined'. I'm staring to get a bit 'hacked off' with their dismissive attitude and no explanition at all.
I recognise the fact that my work does contain mistakes and could be better, but I feel that the group leader is being qutie arrogant.

I don't know. They probably want the 'best of the best' but if that's the case they need to say so and have an actual list of rules that include the fact that they scrutinize everything. they said my photo didn't have a "specific point of focus" yet I'm pretty sure he just didnt agree with where the focus was. Most of my photography is pretty abstract and they need keep in mind other artist's pov not just their own.

Totally with you here! Is that not what art is meant to be about? An individual's perspective and interpretation of the reality that they're part of! Some of their thinking seems to be low grade/elementary art school or photographic evening class. We can expect some our work to be rejected or declined and accept that decision. But, where one piece is accepted by 1,2 or even 3 other galleries (with favourable comments, it becomes a tad suspicious when they keep on rejecting piece after piece.
The 'rule of three and specific points of focus' have their place, but as Oscar Wilde wrote.... "Consistancy is the last refuge of the unimaginative".
I've had a look at some of the material in your gallery and it's pretty darned good. I like Abstract myself, and try different ideas, not all of which work. But, is that not the purpose (or one of them at least) of sites such as DA, that other people's work can inspire us in different ways and that we can learn from each other?
Take care and never mind what they say you're work is GOOD!!!
